*BLOG BLITZ* Under the Woods – KA Richardson ★★★★

Blurb; When a homeless woman, Cheryl Whiffen, hears voices in her head telling her to do bad things, she can’t help but obey.

But when Cheryl becomes the victim of a serial killer who is collecting angels, this time the voices can’t help her. She is deemed not worthy of being an angel and the killer has to find another way to dispose of her body.

TJ Tulley has connections in the police force – her brother Jacob is a digital forensic analyst and her soon to be sister-in-law is a CSI. She knows many of their colleagues so when someone breaks into her house at the riding stables she owns, it’s not a surprise when the police dispatch CSI Jackson Doherty.

Is there a link between a suspicious fire at the stables and the serial killer?

As TJ and Doherty get closer to the truth they don’t realise the danger they are in. He is a killer – he’s angry at their investigation and he’ll do just about anything to protect his angels…

My Review; Happy publication day! I’ve done it again.. Under the Woods is book four in the forensic files series. This is the first book I have read by KA Richardson but nevertheless have all her others waiting patiently on my kindle. It reads well as a standalone but I will be going back to read this series from the start at some point.

A cleverly written story that had me gripped until the last page. Brilliant. Very impressed. This story does contain some dark parts throughout. I felt sorry for poor Cheryl! Must admit one of the main characters in this story THE KILLER is one sick, twisted character! A highly recommended read from me, I look forward to reading the previous 3 books if they’re as good as this one! Thrilling. A well deserved four stars.

The Warden – D.P. Tighe ★★★★★

Now I need to start by apologizing for how quiet myself, my blog and my social media sites have been recently and that is because I have been struggling to concentrate on reading lately and have given myself a well deserved break!

Blurb:
Alice has lead a pretty normal life up until now. She wakes up finding herself trapped in a sick game of survival within the walls of an old asylum. She has to fight her way out while facing many psychotic enemies, no one said they were all living psychopaths though…
When she discovers how she actually got there she is forced to make some difficult decisions.
Will Alice survive the horror games?

My Review:
I must admit getting yourself out of a book slump for as long as I have been in mine lately is hard… BUT this book got me out of my slump!!! HURRAH! YAY. I’m back.

I awarded a well deserved five stars for this story, but it does come with a few warnings. The Warden SHOULD NOT be read at night especially if you’re alone, you will need to keep the light on for this story. Secondly, you will need a strong stomach as parts of this story made my stomach turn, you’ve been warned! Lastly, I would highly recommend you’re over 16 years of age to read this story personally.

The Warden is book one in the Twisted Minds series with a second book to follow in the future. You will need to be a patient reader as you will be hanging from a tall cliff after this book till you can dive back into book two. If you haven’t guessed already The Warden is a horror unlike any other I have read, it has EVERYTHING you would hate… The darkest most twisted scenarios you can think of. The only other thing I could compare it too is Saw, very similar but different!

The Warden is written well, easy to read and contains short chapters throughout. This is only a short story which can easily be devoured within a few hours and contains 114 pages of your worst nightmare..

If this sounds like your kind of horror I do have a SIGNED COPY to giveaway over on my Facebook page so keep your eyes peeled! I am now off to read something far more romantic and soft than this before my mind is haunted for life…

*BLOG TOUR* Little Bird – Sharon Dempsey ★★★★★

Blurb:
Forensic psychologist, Declan Wells, is dealing with the aftermath of a car bomb during the Troubles in Belfast, which has left him in a wheelchair. But that is only the start of his problems.

Welsh Detective, Anna Cole is running away from a dead-end relationship and the guilt of her mother’s death. She hopes secondment to the Police Service of Northern Ireland will provide a distraction.

There is a killer on the streets targeting young women and leaving behind macabre mementoes to taunt the police.

Can Declan and Anna work together to catch the deranged killer before he strikes again?

And is it ever possible to leave the past behind you?

My Review:
WOW. What a gripping start this book has, it will literally pull you in within the first few chapters and have you hooked. Great first impressions and impressed with how quickly it can grab a reader. I loved all the characters especially Anna and Declan, but despised the killer like always. Little Bird is written well, easy to read and contains short chapters. I must say you cannot tell this is a debut by Sharon as it is brilliantly told and put together. I would highly recommend this story to you all if you haven’t read it already. I awarded a well deserved five stars and I look forward to reading more by Sharon in the future.
