*BLOG TOUR* Untainted Blood – Liz Mistry ★★★★★

Blurb: In a city that is already volatile, tensions mount  after a Tory MP in Bradford Central is discredited leaving the door open for the extreme right-wing candidate, Graeme Weston, to stand in the resultant by-election.

However, Graeme Weston is not what he appears to be and with secrets jeopardising his political career, he must tread very carefully.

Meanwhile, a serial killer targets Asian men who lead alternatives lifestyles and delivers his own form of torture.

As DI Gus McGuire’s team close in, the deranged killer begins to unravel and in an unexpected twist the stakes are raised for Gus.

Are the murders linked to the political scandals or is there another motive behind them?

DI Gus McGuire and his team are back and this might be their toughest case yet.
My Review: WOW! Liz has still got it. Very impressed. Untainted Blood is book number 3 in the brilliant DI Gus McGuire series. I would highly recommend to read them in order however, it still reads well as a standalone. Untainted Blood is easy to read, contains short chapters and is fast paced. It was lovely to be back in this world with familiar characters. I didn’t find it a short read but one definately worth reading. I awarded a well deserved five stars. I hope to see more from this series and author in the future. I would highly recommend this series to you all. All three books are currently 99p for kindle!

The Warden – D.P. Tighe ★★★★★

Now I need to start by apologizing for how quiet myself, my blog and my social media sites have been recently and that is because I have been struggling to concentrate on reading lately and have given myself a well deserved break!

Blurb:
Alice has lead a pretty normal life up until now. She wakes up finding herself trapped in a sick game of survival within the walls of an old asylum. She has to fight her way out while facing many psychotic enemies, no one said they were all living psychopaths though…
When she discovers how she actually got there she is forced to make some difficult decisions.
Will Alice survive the horror games?

My Review:
I must admit getting yourself out of a book slump for as long as I have been in mine lately is hard… BUT this book got me out of my slump!!! HURRAH! YAY. I’m back.

I awarded a well deserved five stars for this story, but it does come with a few warnings. The Warden SHOULD NOT be read at night especially if you’re alone, you will need to keep the light on for this story. Secondly, you will need a strong stomach as parts of this story made my stomach turn, you’ve been warned! Lastly, I would highly recommend you’re over 16 years of age to read this story personally.

The Warden is book one in the Twisted Minds series with a second book to follow in the future. You will need to be a patient reader as you will be hanging from a tall cliff after this book till you can dive back into book two. If you haven’t guessed already The Warden is a horror unlike any other I have read, it has EVERYTHING you would hate… The darkest most twisted scenarios you can think of. The only other thing I could compare it too is Saw, very similar but different!

The Warden is written well, easy to read and contains short chapters throughout. This is only a short story which can easily be devoured within a few hours and contains 114 pages of your worst nightmare..

If this sounds like your kind of horror I do have a SIGNED COPY to giveaway over on my Facebook page so keep your eyes peeled! I am now off to read something far more romantic and soft than this before my mind is haunted for life…

Blurb:

Daisy Mae_224 embarks on the internet dating process with trepidation. Having not been on the dating scene for nearly 30 years, and with fairly rudimentary computer skills, she finds herself embroiled in a series of haphazard and hilarious situations. Read on to find out about PLONKERS, muppets and MAWDs, and a whole host of amusing anecdotes, tips and ideas. Working by day as a Sexual Health doctor, the story as it unfolds contains accounts of Daisy’s clinical experiences with patients in the Sexual Health clinic. She also reflects on her past life with Voldemort (the dreadful ex-husband). With advice and encouragement from Imogen, her 17 year old daughter, her surrogate parents known as the Amigos, with a big house and swanky swimming pool, her friend Pinkie and from Jeannie, her nonagenarian friend from the Nursing Home, Daisy resiliently persists in her quest to find a long term partner. This is a heartfelt story that will ring bells with anyone who has ended a long term relationship and now wants to find somebody new. It is humorously written, full of emails, poems, limericks, and even a recipe! Daisy can’t resist her pages of advice on topics like “Kissing” and “Anti-Snoring.” It is a unique and highly amusing book, which will make you laugh out loud! So read on and see. Will Dating Daisy find her “prairie vole?” Or will the whole process end in disaster?

My Review:
This book has a lovely simple cover, girly. The blurb of this book is what told me to give this story a try. I loved how the book was set out, easy to read and contained short chapters, I especially loved how the author included the email exchanges. I enjoyed reading this story but it didn’t blow me away. Parts throughout did make me giggle, so this story does have a hint of comedy within it. This would be the perfect story for readers who enjoy chick-lit, romance and may even appeal to the young adult readers. Daisy is a one of a kind character with her story to tell and she wants you there until the end. I awarded a fair three stars for this book.
