*BLOG TOUR* The Summer Getaway – Tilly Tennant ★★★★★

Blurb; Ashley Moon is all set for a dream holiday with her daughter in the glittering French Riviera. But nothing can prepare her for the shock of discovering who’s staying in the villa next door…

Ashley Moon got much more than a suntan on her first ever foreign holiday; one whirlwind romance and nine months later she had a daughter,Molly.

Too heart-broken and proud to ever contact the father, Ashley made a decision to go it alone and raise her daughter herself. Fifteen hard and lonely years later, she finally has the chance to take Molly on her first ever holiday; a gorgeous, all-expenses paid trip to the charming French resort of St Raphael.

It is the perfect setting for a week of quality time together; they plan to cycle through the sun-drenched vineyards, lounge by the glistening pool and practice their French on friendly locals. And just when Ashley thought things couldn’t get any better, comes the news of a handsome new occupant to the villa next door.

But fate has other plans for Ashley. One look in to her neighbour’s dark hazel eyes is all it takes to give her the shock of her life. Standing in front of her is Haydon, Molly’s long lost father and the holiday fling she thought she’d never see again.

As the temperature on the Cote D’Azure steadily rises and Ashley and Haydon begin spend more and more time together, will Ashley find the courage to tell him who she is – and more importantly, who Molly is?

My Review; Eeee. Where do I start? A gorgeous cover, the perfect holiday read or if you are like me in the garden on a perfect sunny day! This is the first book I have read by Tilly and boy have I found a gem of an author.

I loved every second of this. Parts had me laughing, parts had me saying oh dear and oops. Brilliant. I found it an easy read and a story which can easily be devoured. The story is told through Ashley and Haydon’s lives alongside both their daughters, but they have had something between them. A shared secret. What will the outcome be?

A well deserved five stars. Highly recommend. An author I must read more of. A story that highlights how important family can be.

*BLOG TOUR* Happily Never After – Emma Robinson ★★★★★

Blurb; Rory closed her eyes. Think with your head. Your heart can’t be trusted. Life is not a fairytale…

Rory doesn’t believe in love. She’s got far too many real problems to deal with.

She’s just bought a tumbledown house. Her mother is generally behaving like a wicked witch, insisting on calling her Aurora, and generally interfering in her (admittedly pitiful lack of) love life. And her 16-year-old daughter has finally grown out of Disney princesses and discovered dating…

But Rory’s adamant that she doesn’t need saving. In fact, the only thing she’s wishing on a star for is a bit of practical help. However, when she meets a builder whose name is John Prince and who seems to be in the habit of rescuing her (right down to finding her lost shoe one evening) she might have to face a truth as uncomfortable as hobbling home barefoot – that maybe there’s something enchanted in the air.

Her mother, daughter and friends are convinced her prince has come, but Rory just wishes everyone could let it go. Especially when she hears a story that makes her question whether he is really the hero everyone thinks he is…

My Review; OH EM GEE. WOW! After reading Emma’s debut The Undercover Mother, this was a must read for me. Boy was this bloody brilliant! Very impressed. I loved every second of reading Happily Never After. A must buy. A must read. You will not be disappointed at all.

This story had me laughing out loud throughout. I fell in love with all of the characters especially Rory with her strong determination and will. She is a very relatable character at times and a hardworked, overtired teacher… Which I can relate to, been there, done that. But phewwww. Did it just get hot in here? That John Prince character sounds the dream doesn’t he? Getting me all hot and bothered. A real life little hero! Phew.

I devoured this way too quickly within a day and now have to wait till her next book. Sigh. But I already know it will be a belter. Happily Never After is an easy read, fast paced and hilarious story for all chick-lit, romance lovers. A well deserved five stars. Highly recommend if you need cheering up and diving into someone else’s crazy world, it worked for me. Perfect. Outstanding. Just what I needed. Thank you Emma.

A Very Distant Shore – Jenny Colgan ★★★★

Blurb; Wanted: doctor for small island. Must like boats, the seaside and having no hope of keeping a secret…

Lorna lives on the tiny Scottish island of Mure, a peaceful place where everyone helps their neighbour. But the local GP is retiring, and nobody wants his job. Mure is too small and too remote.

Far away, in a crowded camp, Saif is treating a little boy with a badly-cut hand. Saif is a refugee, but he’s also a doctor: exactly what Mure needs.

Saif is welcome in Mure, but can he forget his past? Over one summer, Saif will find a place to call home, and Lorna’s life will change forever.

My Review; This is my first quick reads book I have read and I am very impressed, written by a brilliant author. Perfect for readers who don’t have much time for the thicker books. A Very Distant Shore is short, snappy, easy to read and just perfect!

This is the story of a small community who sticks together and one lost man looking for his place in the world after a tough time. With a heart breaking and heart warming ending. This was a lovely story I devoured in one morning. A well deserved four stars. I would highly recommend it and a quick read. Perfect!
