Sophie Winter lives in a self-imposed cocoon – she’s a single, thirty-one year old translator who works from home in her one bedroom flat. This isn’t really the life she dreamed of, but then Sophie stopped believing in happy endings a very long time ago, when she was fifteen years old and tragedy struck her family. Her grief has left her scared of commitment and completely risk averse, so she plays it safe and keeps everyone at arm’s length. Sophie understands she has a problem, but recognising it and knowing how to fix it are two entirely different things.
One night a serious fire breaks out in the flat below hers. Sophie is trapped in the burning building until a random passer-by, Ben, luckily happens to spot and rescue her. Suddenly her cocoon is shattered – what will be the consequences of this second life-changing event?
This was a must read for me after seeing a friend read this book and enjoying it, also I personally enjoyed her other book (Fractured). I have to say Dani’s stories are so beautiful that they also make me cry and break my heart! (sometimes its good to cry). I love her stories. They are written beautifully, fast paced, easy to read and will have you grabbing for a tissue. You will just fall in love with the characters, especially Ben who is the real hero. I really enjoyed reading this book and I was immersed into Sophie’s and Ben’s world. I would highly recommend this book to you all but a tissue or two will be needed! Dani is definitely an author to watch out for! A well deserved five stars from me as I loved the cover and a book that makes me cry now and again… A must buy from me! Enjoy, I loved it and will miss this story. CURRENTLY 99P. You won’t regret buying this one.
Now I have had this book on my shelf waiting to be read for a while now, so I gave it a chance and it did not disappoint me at all. Fractured is a bestselling book full of love and second chances. It is the story of Rachel who has the perfect life until one accident changes her life and world immediately. Fractured can be a very confusing story for some readers as it involves Rachel but in two different lives and you are left thinking throughout which is her real life. Nevertheless do not let that put you off as all will be revealed towards the end of the book, oh and have a tissue handy for the last few pages as it is about to get emotional.
Dani Atkins has written a wonderful story that makes you assume you have figured the plot out before everything is revealed, but then you are wrong and in for a shock! I am glad I did not wait any longer to read this book as I loved and savored every page of this book, it is one of those books I will never forget and sticks with you. Fractured is a book best suited for those readers who enjoy an easy read and are interested in the young adult genre, I would also state that this is another book that would be perfect for a reader who is part of a book club as you will have a lot to discuss. I would highly recommend this book as this is the first book I have read by Dani Atkins and it blew me away. I cannot wait to explore her other books especially the most recent one she has released called Our Song. Enjoy.
